Worship and Witness
We gather here to worship, so that we are reminded of God’s presence here, in this place, but also everywhere, and in so doing, we reorder our lives. We bear witness to the goodness of God in all aspects of life. When we proclaim in worship “The Lord is God” we are also saying that the Lord we find in scripture is also God of all life. God is not relegated to religious practice, but is present in all the earth. And so entering the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving is important, but so is exiting the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving. We must enter and exit the Lord’s courts with praise. For we are always coming into God’s presence. God’s goodness doesn’t end when we leave this sanctuary. God’s steadfast love and faithfulness endures forever, to all generations.
