Coffee Time is More Than Just a Cup of Java

Coffee Time is a special time for all ages. There is always so much excitement in the fellowship hall as those who gather can’t wait to share events from the past week, do a little church business, or have play time with friends before going to Sunday school. And of course, partake in coffee, tea, juice, and a little snack.

As with every event, it takes dedicated people to provide the snacks, make the coffee, and tidy up the kitchen for this to be successful. Special thanks to the following people who have volunteered for Coffee Time from September through May:

Harry Biddle, Sherry Bowman, Missy Burket, Sue Comer, Kim Ferrari, Debbie Herring, Jerry Anne Kines, Kay Lee, Robyn Legge, Jane Meadows, Pat Reed, Pam Schultz, Debbie Seidel, Carolyn Strong, Gretchen Zience,
Karl Wilkerson and Bridget Beach

There is always a “coffee time break” during the summer months, but we will be starting again on September 7. Coffee Time is scheduled from 9:15 until 9:45. If you haven’t participated in the past, we hope to see you there this year.

There is a need for more volunteers. If you are willing to volunteer for coffee time, please contact Kim Ferrari at kimferrari@cox.net or 703-863-5283.

Professor NM Gadzama Stays with Corys

Prof. NM Gadzama spent 2 nights with us, Carol and Lincoln, at our home in Vienna, Va. One night a woman from Arlington Cob connected with the professor. He had known her father, Mr. McKay, when her father was a missionary in Nigeria. The professor and Mr.McKay had known each other as they worked in the same part of Nigeria. We enjoyed a special evening of sharing.

The professor came to the States and completed his BA (at a Brethren college), then continued on to receive an MA and PHD in Zoology. He has taught on the University level in his country. He is active in COB and even went to Annual Conference before returning to his country. His strong background made him a good conversationalist.

The young women who were kidnapped recently were from his region and he expressed great concern for their safety.

My wife and I felt it was a joy to be with him for the 2 nights.

Carol and Lincoln Cory
