The Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna and the Vienna Parks and Recreation Dept. present a Health and Wellness Fair for adults over 55 years old on Saturday, April 11th from 10 am – 1 pm at the Vienna Community Center. There will be over 30 vendors offering a variety of useful information, including nutrition and food safety, personal training, blood pressure checks, physical therapy just to name a few. Love Feast will be held this year on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd from 7:30-9:30p. Good Friday service, on April 3rd, will again be at Oakton United Methodist Church beginning at noon and ending around 3:00p. The service is divided up into half hour segments each focusing on a different last word from the cross, as follows:
- 12:00 – 12:30 – “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they are doing.” Luke 23:34a
(Matt Landes will preach the noon segment)
- 12:30 – 1:00 -“Truly, I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise” Luke 23:43
- 1:00 — 1:30 – “Woman, here is your Son. Here is your mother.” John 19:26
- 1:30 – 2:00 -“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46
- 2:00 -2:30 -“I am thirsty” John 19:28 and “It is finished” John 19:30
- 2:30 – 3:00 – “Father, into your hands I commend my Spirit.” Luke 23:46
