Love Feast will be held this year on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd from 7:30-9:30p. Good Friday service, on April 3rd, will again be at Oakton United Methodist Church beginning at noon and ending around 3:00p. The service is divided up into half hour segments each focusing on a different last word from the cross, as follows:

Three of our youth and one advisor are planning to participate in the Church of the Brethren Work Camp at the Pine Ridge Reservation in Kyle, South Dakota for a week this summer. Other youth from our congregation have attended this challenging and life changing work camp in the past. The work camp is hosted by a school in the town of Kyle. Even though this work camp interested many of the youth, in order to save expenses, they were trying to find a work camp closer to home. Scheduling due to our different school systems did not allow that. We’re proud of these students that are willing to take the time do this kind of work and go beyond their comfort zone. If you have interest in helping defray some of their expenses for travel or registration, please consider contributing to the Camp Scholarship Fund or speak to Jan Fischer Bachman.
Please mark your calendar for Sunday, April 26 for a Youth Hike with the Northern Virginia Church of the Brethren Youth.
The plans are not finalized, but the hope is to hike at Great Falls in the afternoon.Seven “Oaktoners” had a nice time on the fall hike with friends from Arlington, Manassas, and Nokesville. We’re working our way up to hiking Old Rag.Please contact Jerry Anne Kines for more information.
